The mosque of the seven maidens
Overview
The "Mosque of the Seven Maidens" or "Yedi Kuzlar Jamisi" is one of those miraculous places that gather people from different religions. It doesn't matter who you are or what your God is called. Only love matters. The mosque itself was built because of it. In fact, it is one of the oldest Muslim temples in Bulgaria. It was built in 1428. The story is as follows. Seven maidens lived in the now defunct village of Ramollar. They were engaged to seven young men-soldiers. The men were called up for service in the sultan's army, and the women remained waiting for them. They had to be married when the men returned after the war. But they did not return. Time passed, and the weight in the hearts of the woemn became greater and greater. One day the news came. All seven fiancés were killed in battle. Broken by grief, the women vowed never to marry. They decided to sell their dowries and use the money to build a mosque in memory of their fiancés and their love for them. That's what they did. The masters built the mosque overnight. Finally, when it was completed, the seven women disappeared without a word or bone. People say that they have become angels who ascended to heaven with their loved ones. Thus, the mosque was named the "Seven Maidens". To remember that love is stronger than anything. The day the miracle of the ascension of the girls took place was May 6. Since then, every May 6, for more than 600 years, thousands of people from all over the municipality have gathered here. Mevlid (a work written by Suleiman леelebi in 812), the Koran and prayers are read, and guests are treated to pilaf.
The beautiful story of the women who paid for their love with their lives is still told today. In the garden of the mosque are their graves, strewn with gifts. They are empty, but they are there to remind us. On the stone slabs of each of them is not written their names, but RUHUNA FATIHA, which means "Prayer for the soul." On the feast day of the mosque - May 6 - women of all ages gather in front of them. It is believed that when a man prays, the seven women help the request to be heard and the wish to be fulfilled. Today, the mosque has the status of a museum and has been declared a "Cultural Monument of Regional Importance".
However, the miracle of the place does not end there. A little further on in today's Turkish cemetery there are several stones that are considered to be highly healing. They are not just stones, but a complex of several specially fenced places. Each for different ailments. The first stone is similar to the so-called proviralki, but only with a door. It cures all kinds of diseases. It is passed three times, and then it is exited through another exit, so that the disease is not taken back, but remains in the ground. The second people say that it helps with bone diseases. That is why a person stands on all fours. And here, one has to bend three times. The next stone helps with migraines and headaches. There one must bend so as to touch one's head to the stone three times to allow it to heal. The fourth stone cures spinal diseases and rheumatism. One has to sit on it. If he can't, at least he has to support the sick place. And so again three times.
