Overview

The Thracian rock tomb is reached by the road of the village of Benkovski in the direction of the village of Mazhentsi, a quarter of the village of Benkovski since 1991. The road is indicated by a sign of the First Archaeological Trail in Bulgaria, where rock formations, wells, Thracian tombs, sacrificial sites are historical and natural value. On the road Zlatograd-Kardzhali, the sign is placed after the sign for Turkyan fountain, and on the other side of the road is 1.5 km from the entrance of the village of Benkovski to the village of Kirkovo. The vehicle is left in the village. Followed by a transition of about 15-20 minutes on foot.

The archeological site is relatively well preserved. Thracian rock tomb has a cave shape. The opening of the entrance is 1.65 m wide and 1.45 m high, at the end of which there is a groove of a plate closing it. The "burial chamber" is square with a length of 2.20 m and a width of 2.34 m. The highest point of the dome is 1.72 m. It is cut at the base of a sandstone rounded by the winds, in an easy and accessible place.
