Overview

On July 14, 1896 the foundations of the church "St. Dimitar" in Haskovo were laid. The construction lasted for two years and in the autumn of 1898, on the Day of the Cross (September 14), the church was consecrated by the Metropolitan of Plovdiv Nathaniel.

The church "St. Dimitar" is built of quarry stone and lime. The roof is gabled. Initially, there was a dome, but in 1956 - due to aging and inability to repair - it collapsed. All windows and doors in the church end in arches. The iconostasis in its highest part above the doors is 6.32 m high, and its length is the entire width of the temple - 10 m.

Every Sunday from 10.30 am in the church "St. Dimitar" is held the only Sunday school in Haskovo. The purpose of God's servants is to instill in children the values of the Orthodox faith.
