Thracian Necropolis, Rezovo village

Overview

Rezovo is the southernmost settlement on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. It is located 11 km south of Sinemorets, 17 km from Ahtopol, 5 km from the protected area Silistar, a few hundred meters north of the Turkish border, 31 km from Tsarevo, 36 km from Lozenets and 93 km from the regional center of Burgas . In the past, access to the village was limited, but today it is free. In the past, Rezovo was a port settlement. There are traces of metallurgical activity in its vicinity in many places. About 5 km west of Rezovo, in the area of ​​Zguriite, is the largest deposit of ancient slag in Bulgaria. Its quantity is estimated at several hundred thousand tons. In the area of ​​Selski dol, 3-4 km west of the village, in addition to ore mining, there is also a Thracian mound necropolis.
