Vratsa Regional History Museum
Overview
The Regional History Museum in Vratsa has existed since 1953. It is located in the central part of the city, at the foot of the Vratsa Balkans. It is included in the Hundred National Tourist Sites. The building is one of the few in Bulgaria that is specially designed and built for a museum. The museum is divided into sections (halls) that trace different stages of development of the region. It begins with the Thracian presence in Northwestern Bulgaria (Kingdom of the Tribals). The Rogozen treasure (the largest discovered Thracian treasure, as well as the deposits from the Mogila mound are stored there). Some of the other exhibits: "Vratsa and the region during the First and Second Bulgarian Kingdoms", "Vratsa during the Revival" - participation in the first riots of the church struggle, "Botev and his detachment", Ethnographic-Revival complex "St. Sophronius of Vratsa". The Anti-Fascist Struggle section existed before 1990.
