Monument of envy Haskovo
Overview
The first and only Monument of Envy in the world - the Bulgarian Icarus was unveiled on September 8, 2014 in the town of Haskovo. The sculpture represents a man with outstretched arms, with wings of feathers in an attempt to fly… But two skeletal hands grab his wings, pull them down and want to break them… The idea for the Monument of Envy turned into a sculpture under the hands of Mr. Tenev - Guspata, author of a number of other art installations in Haskovo: the sculpture of Baba Yaga, an owl in front of the Municipality, the figures of the Orange Bridge, the monument of the artist Face… The unique work is cast in bronze, its height is 3 meters and weight - 1 ton. It is placed in the center of Haskovo on a massive granite pedestal. The monument of Envy - the Bulgarian Icarus was erected entirely with donations.
