Overview

Peyo Yavorov’s first work experience was in the year 1894 when he started to work as a telegraph operator at the post office in Pomorie (then Anhialo). He rented a wooden house by the sea, where he lived. The rocks near the house were his favorite place to get inspiration. This job made Yavorov travel across Bulgaria a lot. The traveling only increased his interest in literature, as through traveling he learned several other authors from different areas in Bulgaria. Some of his first poems Yavorov managed to draft when he was traveling.

The poet left the city in 1900, and the locals paid tribute to his talent by naming the rocks after him and building a monument. Today there is a nice small park near the monument.
