The monument was unveiled in 1958. On the east and west sides of the pedestal are mounted the bas-reliefs of Dr. Petar Vichev and Dimitar Donchev-Doctor, who are two of the most famous freedom fighters of Dobrudja, and the majestic figure is of Docho Mihailov. , killed in 1926 near the village of Nikola Kozlevo. On the north side there is a filigree bas-relief of a group composition of Dobrudzha revolutionaries, and under all of them is the signature of the author Pavel Meteorov, whose house was behind the monument of Stefan Karadja. Docho Mihailov is a revolutionary and political figure, among the leaders of the Dobrudzha liberation movement. Docho Mihailov was born on October 29, 1895 in the village of Babuk, Silistra region. He became a member of the Bulgarian Communist Party and joined the leadership of the Internal Dobrudzha Revolutionary Organization, being a supporter of the formation of a Soviet republic in Dobrudzha. At the seventh regular congress of the Emigrant Union "Dobrudja", held from 25 to 27 March 1923 in Targovishte, Docho Mihailov and Varban Petrov from Dobrich officially launched the idea of creating an illegal VDRO, equipped with a guerrilla apparatus. Congress, which is a voluntary legal entity, has refrained from making a decision, although it recognizes the need for it to exist. After the end of the congress, but with his knowledge, a decision was made in Ruse to establish VDRO. A Central Committee based in Ruse was elected. Docho Mihailov is a member of the Central Committee and has been appointed chief voivode of the detachments in Dobrudja. The village of Jivel is designated as the main base of the detachments. Here, in the period May-June 1923, the Dobrudzha detachment "Stefan Karadja" was created, which consists of 18 people. The detachment is equipped with weapons and military uniforms. With the help of Nikola Kamilev from the Military Union, the unimpeded crossing of the border by the Bulgarian side was arranged. In July-August 1923 the Dobrudzha detachment made its first raid in Dobrudzha. In September 1923 the detachment took part in the September Uprising in Varna, where the voivode was wounded and treated for several months in the village of Madara. New shares followed in 1924. On March 8, 1925, Docho Mihailov was arrested by the Bulgarian police in the village of Dzhivel. He was escorted to Ruse in connection with the trial of the "Ruse conspirators". Sentenced to 1 year in prison. The sentence was served in the Ruse prison from September 5, 1925 to May 10, 1926. While Docho Mihailov was in prison, a new communist-oriented Dobrudzha organization, the DRO, was established in Vienna. The initiator is Georgi Krosnev from Dobrich. Dr. Petar Vichev and Stoyan Boykov from Silistra and Babuk take part in the work of the congress. Docho Mihailov is included in the Central Committee of the DRA and gives his consent to lead a detachment of the DRO in Dobrudja. After his release from prison, Docho Mihailov went to the village of Jivel, where Dimitar Donchev-Doctor and the detachment were waiting for him. On May 19, 1926, the detachment moved to Dobrogea, where it formed DRO committees. The right-wing elements in VDRO, together with the police in Shumen, planned the liquidation of Duke Docho Mihailov and carried it out on August 26, 1926. The Bulgarian government took measures to stop the revolutionary activities of the organization after an incident near Staro Selo in which several dozen Romanians were killed. gendarmerie. Docho Mihailov was killed by the Bulgarian authorities with the help of Nikola Kyamilev, and before that his testimony was taken . Along with Docho Mihailov, 3 more rebels were killed: Georgi Gitsov, Gino Drumev, Todor Gospodzhakov. The Zora newspaper of August 28, 1926, called the guerrillas a "robber gang." A monument to Docho Mihailov was erected on the central square in Silistra.
