Rudozem

Rudozem is a small town in Southern Bulgaria, Smolyan Region, the administrative center of Rudozem Municipality, which includes 22 settlements. It is located southeast of Smolyan in the Western Rhodopes, in the arda river valley, at about 700 meters above sea level. The settlement is mentioned under the name Palace in Ottoman documents from 1676. Enters the territory of Bulgaria with the Bucharest Treaty of 1913.
