Church of the Assumption Enchovtsi village

Overview

Kolyo Radkov Gadzhev from the village of Gorni Radkovtsi donated the gold he found for the construction of a church. With a sultan's decree of October 24, 1843, the authorities authorized the construction. Master Dimitar Sergyov took over the management of the construction. The consecration of the church took place on July 31, 1849 by Metropolitan Neophyte of Tarnovo. The carving in the church bears the handwriting of the Tryavna Carving School and is the work of priest Koyu Vitanov. The icons are also by Tryavna masters.
Initially, the service in the church was led by priest Koyu Vitanov from Tryavna.
In 1958 the church was decorated with frescoes by the artist Panteley Seferov.
