Three-veined wheatgrass

Overview

Protected area "Three-veined wheat", declared by Order of the Minister of Environment and Water, in order to protect the plant species Three-veined wheat (Centaurea trinervia Willd) and its habitat. The protected area is located on the land of the village of Nevsha, Vetrino municipality. The three-veined wheatgrass is a critically endangered species - a Tertiary relic, included in the Red Book of the Republic of Bulgaria. In Bulgaria it is found only on the hill Taushan Tepe near the village of Nevsha. It can also be found in Romania, Hungary, Moldova and Ukraine.
