Overview

The treasure from Sinemorets has 199 silver coins, all of one denomination - four drachmas. They are minted in the following mints: Kizik - 1 copy, Odessos - 2 copies, Messambria - 3 copies, Kingdom of Vitina - 14 copies, Mostis - 36 copies, and 143 copies of Lysimachus types, of Byzantium. The treasure coins were minted in different years, which fall between the middle of the 2nd century BC. and the very beginning of the 1st century BC.

The Sinemor treasure contains 36 tetradrachms with the image and name of Mostis, which form the largest group of coins of the ruler, discovered together and with a clear context so far. At the same time, Mostis's 36 coins exceed twice the number of the ruler's coins known until 2012. These facts give an idea of ​​the exceptional importance of the coin treasure for science.
