Overview

Chitalishte /National culture and art center/ - monument - cultural home - emblematic building, it is the business card of the town of Bratsigovo, firmly rooted in its foundations, for half a century it stands tall, proud and unshakable.
The construction of a community center - a monument is the second major acquisition for our city after 1945 donated by the state for the merits of our city and in memory of the hundreds of victims who fell in the revolutionary struggles during different eras and wars.
The building of the cultural center was built on the hill "Malkata Padarnitsa" above the area "Sargovitsa". The investor is the Committee for Science, Art and Culture. The authors of the project are architect Zhelyazko Stoykov and architect Vladimir Rangelov, and the designer is eng. Emil Popov. Construction began in 1954 with a completion period of 36 months.
The building has 1700 sq.m. built-up area and volume of 12,000 cubic meters. During the construction works, in order to save money, the middle staircase was removed, which should lead to the future monument, other decorative elements on the facade of the building were removed. Despite all the charm and majesty unique.
The corridors of the cultural center are furnished with impressive mosaics and wonderful murals designed by the artist Ivan Milchev.
The building has a large theater hall with 404 seats; chamber hall with 150 seats rehearsal, dressing rooms, library with three departments - children's, art and reference; many rooms and a rich warehouse.
In the cultural center is located the art exhibition of part of the fund of the art gallery-Bratsigovo.
