Museum exposition "Dechkova House" - Gabrovo

Overview

The Dechkova  house in Gabrovo is a cultural monument. It is also known as the House of Memories. The building was built in 1835. On November 1, 1883 the Gabrovo branch of the Bulgarian Red Cross Society was founded in it. Dechkova House is a museum site of the Regional Historical Museum-Gabrovo. The exposition "Urban life from the end of the XIX to the 40s of the XX century" The boy's house in Gabrovo is a cultural monument. It is also known as the "House of Memories". The building was built in 1820. The exposition shows the changes that occur in urban life as a result of European influence. The innovations in the furniture are noted - the replacement of the fireplace with a metal stove for heating and cooking, the replacement of the paralia table and the three-legged chairs with a kitchen high table and "Viennese type" chairs in the kitchen. A unique set of luxury furniture is on display in the dining room, which also serves as a guest lounge. A representative part of the fund of cultural values ​​preserved in the Regional Historical Museum - Gabrovo, including unique items belonging to the noble families Yamantievi, Stomonyakovi, Hadjiberovi, is also exhibited. In the present exposition there is a separate salon of the Gabrovo fashion from kr. from the XIX to the 40s of the XX century. Original women's and men's clothing and accessories are presented, including earrings, rings, bracelets, gold watches and diamonds, made in the most famous jewelry studios in Europe.
