Vasil Demirevski House Museum

Overview

In the house-museum "Vasil Demirevski - Zhelyo" in Dupnitsa is arranged a renewed ethnographic exposition, dedicated to traditional clothing from the Dupnitsa region from the end of the 19th, beginning of the 20th century. It is presented mainly women's clothing with its specifics and its development over time. The exhibits are authentic samples and follow how the woman's clothing changes in the Dupnitsa region. In a separate corner on the 3rd floor there is a separate place for the Karakachans in the region, as the male and female Karakachan costumes are shown. Women's clothing is characterized by the fact that it is multi-layered, and the fabric is thick, heavy and black, in contrast to men's, in which white predominates. On the 2nd floor there is an exposition, which presents rural and urban type houses.
