Overview

Hadjiangelova House was built in 1883 by the Debar master Georgi. It belongs to the late type of symmetrical buildings without a portico. Located in the central part of the city, it once had a large yard with lots of flowers, boxwood and greenery.

The museum exposition shows home decor and patterns of urban clothing from the late nineteenth to mid-twentieth century. In the furnished living rooms, living room, lounge and bedroom, traditional local objects coexist with modern European and Russian patterns.

On the first floor is arranged the exhibition "The house on the border of two epochs (Stara Zagora life in the 40s-60s of the XX century)".

The exhibited items such as: electric iron, radio, Soviet gramophone, show the entry of clothing not only in clothing but also in furniture. These are no longer luxury goods, but cheap, comfortable and affordable items for every household, which largely unify the home interior.

The salon on the first floor reveals through toys, books and school supplies the world of the child - a carefree and magical world in which everything is possible and achievable.

Western European influence in home furnishings and everyday life from the 1920s and 1940s is shown on the second floor.

Along with the household items in the exhibition, the fashion trends in clothing for the indicated periods are followed.
