Chudomir House Museum
Overview
Dimitar Chorbadjiiski, better known as Chudomir and a Bulgarian humorist, a native of the village of Turia. As a token of respect, his home has been turned into a museum.
Dimitar Chorbadjiiski was born in 1890 in the picturesque village of Turia. His mother's passion for painting ignited him in his teens - that's why, in addition to being a writer, Chudomir is also an artist. He contributes greatly to the cultural development of Kazanlak and the region as a cultural figure. He is among the founders of the newspaper "Kazanlak Spark", chairman of the community center and director of the Historical and Ethnographic Museum in Kazanlak. In 1967 he received the title of People's Artist of Culture. The same year he left this world and at his request was buried in the yard of his home in Kazanlak. His house in the city has been turned into the only literary and art museum of its kind in Bulgaria.
The house in the village of Turia is not authentic, but was built on the place where the property of Chudomir's father was. It is open for visits, and the walnut tree in front of the house casts a thick and cozy shade in the summer heat.
In 2012 in the yard of the house was shot the film "Chudaka Chudomir", which tells about little-known facts from the life of the famous Turk, who left the unforgettable images of "Nashentsite" in Bulgarian literature.
