House Museum
Overview
There are several old houses in the town, which have preserved their Revival appearance. One of them is the one that houses the historical museum. The building was built in 1901 for a military club and has the characteristics of a late Renaissance building. In the period 1912 - 1913 it was used as a town hall. In 1971 it was restored and adapted for the needs of the museum collection. The building has cultural and historical value as the only preserved example of public construction in the city in the early twentieth century. It was declared a cultural monument in 1982.
The cultural and historical heritage of the municipality of Krumovgrad is evidenced by over 2000 exhibits, arranged in a museum collection with an exhibition area of 250 sq.m. and divided into departments of archeology, modern history and ethnography. In 1971 a local History Museum was opened as a museum collection. It is housed in a building built in 1901, which has been declared a cultural monument.
