Holy Trinity Church, Trud village
Overview
The Holy Trinity Revival Church was built by master Mincho Bogdanov Stari in 1869 during the ministry of Fr. Mikhail Panchev. On the preserved large marble slab with the image of a crowned double-headed eagle standing placed in the middle of its floor, among rectangular stone tikles, is indicated this year - 1869, as the year of completion of the temple and its consecration and the name of the chief builder. - master Mincho Bogdanov. In 1863-1864. During the excavation of its foundations, a "proscomidian star" was found - an element of church utensils, which suggests the existence of a ruined small temple or chapel in this place from ancient times. The temple is a rectangular building - a single-nave basilica with a vaulted ceiling, with dimensions: 21 m-length, 9 m-width and 14 m-height. On the east side there is an apse - part of the altar, and on the west there is a three-storey bell tower, which is later built. From the western and northern outer walls, where the metal rails remain today, there were mounted beams - a supporting part of a structure, which was typical for the churches of that time external narthex / canopy with supports and railing /. During the construction of the bell tower after the liberation it was demolished. Inside the church with the funds of the inhabitants and Tsar Boris III are placed large memorial plaques with the names of those who fell in the wars for the liberation and unification of Bulgaria, their memory is honored with every church service , this turned the Revival Church into a temple-memorial of military prowess for the settlement.
