Overview

The village of Obretenik is one of the villages that can boast of a very good attitude towards local tradition and local folklore, perhaps because it is the birthplace of generations of enthusiastic local historians and writers. As early as 1969, an ethnographic collection was organized in the Culture Center, and its founders were: Kancho Bakalov, Ivan Stefanov and Tsanka Ilieva. Over 180 old objects taken from old chests, basements and ceilings form its original appearance. The first donors are Desha Hristova Obreshkova, Atanas and Alexander Bakalovi, Penka Stoyanova Trifonova and Petko Stoyanov Mihov. From the beautiful costumes, embroideries and household items, through the interesting jars, sahans, chakras, spinning wheels, villas, and all the way to the large wooden loom, the variety of donations.

The small museum is gradually growing and becoming something like a museum of spiritual generosity and pride of the homeland of prominent people. Various donations are added to the ethnographic collection. Twenty-five personal photos, violin, compass and binoculars is the original mite of the patriotic countryman - satirist Ivan Kolarov.

On November 5, 1986, Ivan and Nevena Kolarovi donated to the museum 74 works of art by famous Bulgarian artists, including Boris Dimovski, Donyu Donev, Alexander Poplilov, Georgi Pavlov / Pavleto /; Ruse artists Dimitar Stanchev and Nikolay Ruschukliev and others.
