Eco-trail The three Smolyan lakes

Overview

The Smolyan lakes are located in the Middle Rhodopes. They are located from the Orpheus rocks on the left slope of the valley of the river Cherna and reach all the way to the town of Smolyan. In the past there were over 20, but now there are only 7 left, and the others have become swamps. In the spring, some of them are refilled with water. The eco-trail "Three Smolyan Lakes" goes around the three uppermost lakes, located below Snezhanka Peak. They can be reached after the Ezerovo district of the town of Smolyan up the road to the village of Stoykite. To the right of the road there is a sign indicating the location of the lakes. The road leads to the lift moving from Smolyan Lakes to Snezhanka peak.
