State Puppet Theater, Ruse
Overview
Back in 1955, a group of enthusiasts, led by artistic director Nikola Krastev, laid the foundations of puppetry in the city of Ruse. The troupe was created at the House of Culture of Transport Workers. On February 26, 1956, the first meeting of the young spectators from Ruse was with the fairy-tale characters from the play "Little Red Riding Hood". Next are the performances "The False Shepherd", "The Wonderful House", "Mermaid" and others. On February 15, 1960, the amateur ensemble received the status of "State Puppet Theater". The troupe travels a lot, the halls are crowded, but the actors still don't have their own building. Therefore, the date of June 1, 1965 will remain memorable in the history of the theater. On this day, with the performance "The Golden Girl", the own stage of the Ruse Puppet Theater is solemnly opened. Located next to the Danube River, the building is today a cultural monument (built during the Midhat Pasha) and is a favorite place of young spectators in Ruse. During this long period of time on the stage of the Puppet Theater - Ruse have created and visited many talented actors, directors, set designers and composers who have brought many awards. Wonderful, memorable performances such as "Winnie the Pooh", "Light Blue Peter", "The Probable Adventures of Jeremiah Bozukov", "The Hero and the Golden Apple", "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs", "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs", "The Iron Boy", "Duel in the Woods" have been created. , "In the world of our silence", "Dangerous adventures with sweet-voiced characters", "The Little Prince", "About the sun ball and the magic cylinder" and others. There are many awards that the theater has received - diplomas from the festivals in Varaždin, Yugoslavia; Riga, Latvia; Pecs, Hungary; from the Ministry of Education and the House of Arts and Culture for Children. For its successful performance at the First International Festival "Golden Dolphin" -Varna'1972 the theater was awarded a silver medal for the play "The Iron Boy" by J. Radichkov; at the Third International Festival "Golden Dolphin" -Varna'1978 received a bronze medal for the play "Kite Walk" by Rada Moskova; at the International Festival "Dolphin-Varna'88" was awarded a bronze medal for the play "Parrot Pie" by Yordan Todorov. On the occasion of its 25th anniversary for its overall activity and high creative success in 1985, the theater was awarded the Order of Cyril and Methodius - first degree. During all these years the Ruse Puppet Theater has had many tours. Apart from Bulgaria, the theater has toured in Romania, Poland, Hungary, Yugoslavia, Latvia, Denmark, Syria, Libya, Algeria, Germany, Russia.
