Benedictine monastery
Overview
The monastery "St. Benedict ”is a functioning Catholic monastery in the Sekirovo district of the town of Rakovski. The monastery is located next to the church of St. Archangel Michael.
In 2006 the Benedictine Sisters opened a branch of the Benedictine Sisters of Tutzing Monastery in the Sekirovo district near the town of Rakovski. This is their second monastery in Bulgaria. The first convent of the Benedictine Sisters was in Tsarev Brod and was founded in 1924, but ceased operations after September 9, 1944. It resumed its activities in 1992.
