Slivodolsko padalo waterfall
Overview
Slivodolsko padalo is a high waterfall in the Rhodopes, Bulgaria. It is located along the river Slivov dol. The water falls from a height of 49 meters, making the waterfall the highest in the Rhodopes. It is located in the Dobrostan section in the Western Rhodopes. The nearest settlement is the village of Yugovo (Laki municipality, Plovdiv district), located in the southeast.
The waterfall can be reached by a marked path from Martsiganitsa hut or by a path from the road Plovdiv - Smolyan (immediately after the first tunnel after the village of Bachkovo, on the left side of the tunnel).
The water, sliding and falling from mossy rocks, which give it a greenish color, is impressive. At the base of the waterfall, the water is not green, but blue - the riverbed is so deeply carved there. During a winter walk, the waterfall can be seen frozen.
