Hiking trail Krasta /The Cross/

Overview

The beginning of the trail starts from the center of the town of Apriltsi, passes the dug church "St. Petka Paraskeva", which is a cultural monument of national importance and reaches the 34-meter metal cross, giving the name of the trail.

The length of the trail is about 600 m.
Duration of the route - about 20-30 minutes.

Tourist trail "Cross" is an extremely easy hiking trail, suitable for all ages and a great place for rest and relaxation. The trail is equipped with benches for rest and solitude in nature and gazebos, which offer a unique view of the Central Balkan Mountains (Botev peak, Maragidik, Vidim sprinkler) and the April valley.

The area "Cross" is a great place for picnics and socializing with nature. Photography lovers have the opportunity to take beautiful panoramic photos of the memory of the town of Apriltsi, as well as photos of plant species typical of the region.

The built children's facilities offer suitable conditions for activities and entertainment for young children - a board for sea chess, a children's train and a house, swings and a combined children's facility.

It is very exciting to visit it after sunset, when the cross shines with all its charm and romance, and the houses in the valley look like numerous glittering fireflies.

The cross was built by a local entrepreneur on the occasion of the 130th anniversary of the April Uprising and the 30th anniversary of the proclamation of Apriltsi as a city. It is 34 meters high.
