Holy Trinity Church, Komshitsa village
Overview
The church "Holy Trinity", which has been declared a national cultural monument, is located in the village of Komshitsa. The church is one-nave, one-apse, built of cut stone, welded with mortar. All the icons in the temple, the panels, as well as half of the iconostasis have been restored. The iconostasis and the icons are of great artistic value. According to Prof. Dr. Atanas Bozhkov, it is one of the best iconostasis of the last years of the Bulgarian Revival - polychrome, gilded and with openwork carvings, with magnificent color harmony. The icons were painted by Samokov masters.
On July 6, 2008 the new bell tower was consecrated. It was built on the site of the old one, preserving exactly the same architectural style.
