Church "St. Athanasius the Great"

Overview

The church "St. Athanasius the Great" was the first public building in Pravets, built in 1851-1853 at the southern end of the village, on an older medieval church. It was built on a plot of land located in the highest part of the village, the so-called Gorna Charshia market. In 1895-1896 it was rebuilt into a more massive building, preserving the south door of the narthex, 20 m high. In the southern part of the yard was the old cemetery of the village of Pravets. In the northern part of the churchyard in 1861 the first school of the village was built.
