Overview

Studen Kladenets Protected Area is located in Bulgarka Nature Park. Bulgarka Nature Park is a protected area within the meaning of the Protected Areas Act, including diverse ecosystems with diversity of plant and animal species and their habitats, with characteristic and remarkable landscapes and inanimate objects. The park was declared by order RD-775 / 09.08.2002 of the Ministry of Environment and Water and has an area of ​​21 772,163 ha in the Central Stara Planina, and covers the northern slopes and ridges of the Shipka and Tryavna part (SG 86 / 02). The park territory covers the springs and catchment area of ​​the Yantra River and the main tributaries in their upper part, as well as the Hristo Smirnenski Dam. The boundaries of the park include: part of the National Park-Museum "Shipka-Buzludzha", Architectural and Ethnographic Complex "Etara", Protected Area "Vikanata Skala", Protected Area "Studenia Kladenets", Protected Area "Mahchenitsa - Yovovtsi", "Mukhnatite Skali" , Stolishta". Bulgarka Nature Park was included in the system of protected areas in Bulgaria in 2002 in order to protect, restore and maintain the beech ecosystems and landscapes typical of the Balkan Mountains. Its area amounts to 63.5 ha. It is located on the land of the village of Stanchev Khan, Tryavna Municipality, in the area of ​​the springs and upper catchments of the Belichanska (Stanchevhanska) river. It is a natural beech forest with an average age of 110 - 160 g. located single trees of wild cherry, knot, hornbeam, etc. The highest point of the area is the peak Murzhov Lom (862 m above sea level), near which is the highest spring, which is captured. There is a fountain located on the route of route E - 3 and route "Bulgarka".
