Overview

The Museum of Photography and Contemporary Visual Arts aims to present the history and development of photography in both technical and artistic aspects, both in our country and in the world as a whole. As the only such center in our country, the museum emphasizes the Bulgarian contribution in this area. The funds of the museum contain hundreds of exhibits of photographic equipment, consumables and materials, archival photographs, books and documents, most of which - of historical value. The permanent exhibition in the main building of the museum shows interesting collections of cameras produced and used around the world. The museum hosts exhibitions of all photographic genres, book presentations, specialized lectures, concerts, charity campaigns, photo workshops.
