The magic of Panega

Overview

"The Magic of Panega" integrates the unique natural karst formations in the valley of the Zlatna Panega River with the cultural and historical heritage of the region and the various opportunities for alternative, adventure, speleological and cognitive tourism.

Tourist route "The Magic of Panega":

- Karst spring Glava Panega, Zlatna Panega village, Yablanitsa municipality;

- House-museum of the poet Sergei Rumyantsev, Rumyantsevo village, Lukovit municipality;

- "Outdoor Sculptures", Petrevene village, Lukovit municipality;

- Riverside Landscape Park "Panega" (the valley of the river Zlatna Panega, Kotlen area - the most pronounced and impressive old meander in Bulgaria, called by experts "the old woman", crossing the canyon);

- The mouth of the Zlatna Panega River in the Iskar River, the town of Cherven Bryag.

The transition is by car and on foot (in certain sections) for about 8 hours. It is possible to walk around by bike.

The single regional tourist product "The Magic of Panega" was created under the project "The Magic of the Panega Valley" - Marketing of the tourist destination Lukovit - Yablanitsa - Cherven Bryag. The project is funded by the Operational Program "Regional Development" 2007-2013, Priority Axis 3: "Sustainable Tourism Development" and aims to increase the effectiveness of regional marketing in the three neighboring municipalities - Lukovit, Yablanitsa and Cherven Bryag, based on common natural, geographical, socio-economic, cultural and other resources.
