Overview

It is located in the southern part of the town of Nikopol. A typical Bulgarian town house from before the Liberation. One of the houses of the Smolyan family, in which Vasil Levski hid. It was restored in 1968. Today it is an ethnographic museum.

Tsvyatko Smolyanova's house was located in the sparsely populated part of the city, hidden next to the high hills, overgrown with forests, convenient for hiding, that "when he was in danger, Levski hid in his home." There was a hiding place in the house. In case of danger, he went there because he had the opportunity to escape. It is believed that secret gatherings took place in this hiding place. The house was restored and turned into a museum in 1968, representing an environment bearing the marks of life until the Liberation. In one of the rooms there is a corner - a fireplace with a fireplace, round blue, three-legged chairs, a shelf with bowls, old beds, yamurluk. In the next room are placed old weapons - knives, swords and pistols. Each of them has acquired the price of a relic - a shrine. The house during these years has become a hearth of patriotism.
