Lajos Kossuth Museum house
Overview
A monument of Bulgarian Renaissance architecture from the 1930s, the house is connected with Bulgarian and Hungarian history. This is the house of the merchant and mayor of the Bulgarian municipality Hadji Dimitraki Hadjipanev, where the leader of the Hungarian revolution Lajos Kossuth lived during his exile in the town of Shumen. The restored interior of a wealthy Bulgarian Renaissance home is combined with a documentary exhibition tracing the course of the Hungarian Revolution of 1848-1849 and the activities of its leader Lajos Kossuth. In addition, a separate hall was built, presenting an exposition "Bulgarian-Hungarian cultural relations", where temporary exhibitions take place.
