Ethnographic open-air museum-Batkovtsi
Overview
Batkovtsi quarter is located 17 km from Momchilgrad - on the main road Momchilgrad - Krumovgrad there is a brown sign.
The founder of the first Euromahala /Euroquarter/ in Bulgaria is the local patriot Hassan Sadak. The attraction is an open-air ethnographic museum, where exhibits from the traditional way of life and culture of Bulgaria from the XIX and the beginning of the XX century are exhibited. On display are authentic plow, cart and darak, oil beaters, an old saw for beating boards, stone mortars for manual grinding of wheat, barrels, palamarks and more. The cannon made from cherry tree and some of the items in the exhibition are made by Hassan Sadak.
The flags of more than 30 countries were raised at the same place, 28 of them belonged to the member states of the European Union, and the rest belonged to Bulgaria's neighboring countries - Turkey, Serbia and Macedonia. The beginning of the collection of flags is in 2007 with the accession of Bulgaria to the European Union. The first hanging flags are the Bulgarian tricolor, of the municipality of Momchilgrad and the European flag.
The year of accession of Bulgaria to the European Union is written on the cannon.
