Outdoor wooden sculptures - Berkovitsa

Overview

In Zdravets Park in Berkovitsa there is an open-air exhibition of wooden sculptures. The exhibition was designed by the local initiative group Berkovitsa-Godech and is funded by BGN 88,000 from the State Fund "Agriculture". The aim is to beautify the park and promote woodcarving as a traditional craft for Berkovitsa. The figures are realistic, made of trees growing in the park and will depict different animals. Only sculptors from Berkovitsa municipality and Montana district took part in their production, the Berkovitsa administration said.
