Overview

The Terrarium located in Toplika Park in Mineralni Bani is an unusual and interesting tourist attraction for children and adults. The fact is that a huge number of people are interested in the animals that are provided for permanent exhibition by the Thracian Herpetological Society. Here visitors have the opportunity to visit for a minimum fee a permanent, well-arranged terrarium attraction.

Terrariums are one of the most interesting and attractive attractions in the world. In Bulgaria at the moment there is only one stationary terrarium at the Sofia Zoo and several mobile (traveling) attractions, the largest of which are the Thracian Herpetological Society. In all these terrariums are represented mainly exotic species, and the species of the Bulgarian herpetofauna (amphibians and reptiles in Bulgaria) are extremely poorly represented.

Therefore, a large part of the Bulgarian reptiles (most often the different species of snakes) are not known by a large part of the population, which considers them dangerous and very often kills them, despite their protected status. Most species of amphibians and reptiles in Bulgaria are harmless animals that do not endanger humans. On the other hand, it is useful for the population to distinguish between dangerous and poisonous species in order to know how to behave when encountering them in nature.

In the Terrarium of Mineral Baths, visitors can see the permanent exhibition of various specimens of amphibians and reptiles that can not actually be observed in nature for a long time. These are the green iguana, the rock python, the yellow Paraguayan anaconda, rattlesnakes and many more.
