Overview

At the entrance of the Ethnographic Complex "Damascena", you are greeted by the majestic statue of the last great ruler of the Odrysian kingdom, King Seuthes III (330 BC to 300 BC), one of the heroes in Damascena. Riding on his horse, in Thracian armor, the statue of King Seuthes III in a unique way reminds us of the greatness of the glorious kingdom of Odrys. the wife of King Seuthes III, Queen Berenice. The arch itself arouses interest because of the rich symbolism hidden behind its individual elements. The "Great Powers", unhealthily wanting to conquer the world. A unifying element between the past, the present and the future is the inscription-message: "There are no eternal empires, there are peoples who keep their history forever!"
At the entrance of the distillery sits the famous literary hero, the merchant of rose oil, Bai Ganyo, under the watchful eye of its author, one of the most important Bulgarian writers, Aleko Konstantinov - Shtastlivetsa. "Who doesn't know Bai Ganyo and who hasn't heard of him?" Here you will enjoy the incredible masterpieces of art and laugh at the unforgettable phrases uttered in the literary work of Aleko Konstantinov - "Bai Ganyo".
Many semi-divine qualities are attributed to Orpheus. According to legends, even wild beasts worshiped his music. It could also breathe life into the dead. The sculptural composition "Orpheus of the Cross" is located in the parking lot in front of the Ethnographic Complex "Damascene". Every visitor can see how self-forgotten clergy are invited to crucify Orpheus as they crucified Christ. They take away his harp, only to replace it with a crown of thorns - an act so cruel that even wild animals flee in terror. A little-known artifact is of key importance in the overall composition - a plaque of Orpheus. The plaque depicts Orpheus crucified, and the analogy with the crucifixion of Christ is astonishing. Even more intriguing is the fact that the plaque dates back to 2,000 BC. Here, in the heart of the Rose Valley and the Valley of the Thracian Kings, we have chosen to pay homage to the oil-bearing rose Damascene and the unsurpassed cultural heritage they have left behind. your great Thracians.
