Bratanova Cave
Overview
It is located 9 km northwest of M. Tarnovo, in the area of the Three Gorges, land of the village of Brashlyan. It is part of the Vitanovo reserve. It was declared in order to preserve a site of high speleological and archaeological value. This is the largest cave in the Strandzha region, partially explored. In one of its galleries was discovered a coin treasure from the 4th century BC, containing coins of Philip II, Alexander the Great and Apollonia. A small bronze bracelet with snakes at the ends was later discovered.
