Madzharovo

Madzharovo () is a town in Southern Bulgaria. It is located in haskovo region, near the Arda River. The town is the administrative center of madzharovo municipality. This is the smallest city in Bulgaria after Melnik. The village was named Yatadzik until 1912, when it was renamed Dupnitsa. In 1959, in recognition of the great Thracian voivode Dimitar Madzharov, the village was renamed Madzharovo. It was declared a city in 1974.
