Yatata Protected Area

Overview

Strashimirovo marsh (Yatata, Aladansko marsh) is a protected area located on the southern shore of the navigable canal connecting Varna and Beloslav lakes, 1 km east of the town of Beloslav and south of the village of Strashimirovo. It is characterized by a rich species diversity of birds in all seasons. 208 species of birds have been identified on its territory, of which 62 are included in the Red Book of Bulgaria. They encounter protected species of birds such as small cormorant, pink pelican, Dalmatian pelican, small water bull, night heron, black stork, white stork and others.
