Shavarna Protected Area

Overview

Shavarna Forest Park is located south of the town of Levski and is a wooded area where the old riverbeds of the Osam River pass through the forest park and form the so-called vast "osmorki"/osem is eight in English/. The horseshoe-shaped curves of the river gush high groundwater, and the wetlands are a haven for avid anglers and nature lovers.Above one of the old beds is a long bridge revealing an amazing view of the pristine nature of the centuries-old riverbeds.There passes the flowing river Osam. There are many paths through the centuries-old forests of the forest park, spacious meadows and a beach at the flowing bed of the river Osam. Near the forest park there are many interesting sights.
