Holy Ascension Church, Staro selo village

Overview

The church is located in the center of the village of Staro Selo, Radomir municipality. It was built in 1761 and is one of the oldest in the area. In most of the neighboring villages, the construction of churches began about a century later. It was painted in the second half of the 19th century. The uniqueness of this church is that portraits of several Bulgarian rulers are painted on its walls. Khan Tervel, King David, as well as many Bulgarian saints, can be seen.
