Overview

Church of Saints Constantine and Helena is located in the center of the village of Bulgari. The stone church was built in the second half of the 19th century. In 1903, during the Ilinden-Preobrazhensko uprising, it was cremated.

In 1910 it was rebuilt. Oak trees, river stones and local clay soil were used for its construction. The walls of the church are 80 cm thick. The bell tower was built later. The strong desire of the people was for its bell ringing to be heard far away and to solemnly celebrate the great Christian holidays of Christmas and Easter. The church is in this finished form from 1911. The icons of the Holy Mother of God and Jesus Christ were painted by master Stavri from Lozengrad. Along with the strong patriotic Christian faith, the locals have preserved the cult of Saints Constantine and Helena.
