Overview

St. Nicholas is a medieval Bulgarian church in the village of Slokoshtitsa, Kyustendil municipality. The church is located at the end of the Upper Quarter of the village of Slokoshtitsa, to the left of the road, on the left bank of the river Slokoska. One-nave one-apse church with a semicircular apse, external dimensions 7 X 5.30 m. It had a semi-cylindrical vault, which was replaced by an eaves during its restoration. Built in the XVI century of quarry stones, red bricks and mortar. Rebuilt and restored in 1886, from which time the frescoes. The author of the late painting is Evstatiy Popdimitrov from the village of Osoy, now in northern Macedonia. Above the entrance is painted the patron saint of the church of St. Nicholas, below it there is a two-line inscription dated 1886, and on the side are the images of the archangels Michael and Gabriel.
