Overview

"St. Dimitar" is a Bulgarian Revival church in the town of Kyustendil. It was built in 1866 in the eastern part of the town on the initiative of the Kyustendil teacher Daskal Dimitri. The author of most of the icons is the famous Samokov artist Ivan Dospevski. The icon of St. Demetrius in the church is the work of the prominent Bulgarian painter from Berovo Gavril Atanasov.
