Overview

In the land of the village of Kyulevcha, consisting of over 25 thousand decares of arable land, as many meadows and 10 thousand decares of municipal forest, there are several ancient and medieval settlements from different periods. Under the rock crown above the village, in the direction of the north, there was life since the Neolithic, as evidenced by the abundant artifacts. They are usually found in caves below the plateau or around several springs. According to treasure hunters, Greek-Thracian settlements were excavated, which remained far from the attention of archaeologists. To the east of the present village of Kyulevcha, on an area of about ten acres there was a Roman settlement, inhabited until the Bulgarian Middle Ages. It is located on a slightly sloping meadow above the Revival fountain Kachitsa. Above him in the 70s of the 20th century was found a rich find of Greek tetradrachms. In the current center of the village, during the construction of the community center, several Thracian burials were discovered and studied. In the 1990s, a Thracian burial by cremation in a typical dolmen was also discovered fifty meters away. Shumen archaeologists came across, after a signal, a Thracian necropolis of small flat mounds with burials by cremation, looted in the near future, in the area Vitite lokvi.
