Overview

The sanctuary is located on a rock massif, elongated in the east-west direction, dominating the surrounding area. Stone circles are carved on the rock, most of which are located in a chain on top of the rock surface. There are 17 of them, and all the circles are convex, with a hemispherical shape, and in some of them there is a natural weathering of the rock caused by natural erosion and the great antiquity of the cuts, which to varying degrees has erased parts of the circles. The predominant part of the circles has a diameter of 1 - 1.25 m, in others it is smaller than 0.5 m. It is assumed that the Rock Sanctuary in the Sechen Kamak area is dedicated to the Great Mother Goddess (the rock) and the Sun-God (whose symbol is the circle). South of this area, in the direction of Ovchar peak, on a rocky hill, there are outlines of weathered niches carved into the rock. The connection with the Sechen Kamak Sanctuary is visual, which means that both sites were connected in a sanctuary complex in antiquity.
