Rock phenomenon "Elephant"

Overview

Rock phenomenon "Elephant" is located about 4 km southeast of the town of Devin, just after the junction of the road Devin-Smolyan, before the beginning of the former village of Nastan (now a neighborhood of Devin). It is located on the right side of the road (coming from Devin), on the left bank of the river Vacha, shortly before its confluence with the Shirokolashka river. It is an interesting stone formation in the shape of an elephant, which has been formed for thousands of years by natural forces - wind, rain, sun, earthquakes and more. When you look at the rock, you can see curves and shapes reminiscent of an elephant's body, head, legs and beauty. According to scientists, the appearance of the strange rock formation is most likely related to the destruction of an ancient cave by the river or after an earthquake.
