Simeonovski Lakes

Overview

The lakes of Simeonovo are located in Vitosha Mountain. They are a symbol of Simeonovo district. They are man-made, but are located in the wilderness of Vitosha mountain and are a great place for a picnic. 

Simeonovski Lakes are fed by the waters of Simeonovska river. In the past, there were natural lakes in the mountain, over the years they have dried up. А unique ecosystem has been formed in the area of the lakes. It is a home to different amphibians - large and crested newt, yellow-bellied toad, and others.
