Orthodox Church of the Assumption in Byala
Overview
The Church of the Assumption in the town of Byala (Varna region) dates from 1876. It functioned until the mid-1980s, after which, as a result of a lack of care from the state, local authorities and the church, it gradually declined and began to crumble. At the beginning of the 21st century, a foundation was established to raise funds and carry out the restoration of the church. It was decided to completely demolish the old church and build a new church, using the bricks and stone blocks from the old church.
