Cave Snezhanka
Overview
Snezhanka is a cave located in the Batak Mountains in the Western Rhodopes and is located 5 km from the town of Peshtera. It was opened on January 3, 1961. from a group of climbers. An eco trail with a length of about 800 m leads to the entrance of the beautiful cave, where you can see some of the most beautiful glacial forms. The cave is 145 m long. Its temperature is 8 ° С. It is among the 7 largest landscaped caves in Bulgaria. There are over 600,000 stalactites and it is called an underground palace. There are several halls in it: the "Udder Hall", the "Great Hall", the "Music Hall", connected with the "Collapse", over which a bridge passes. In the "Magic Hall" nature has created a figurine resembling the fairytale heroine "Snow White", which gives the idea of Prof. Alexi Petrov from BAS for the name of the cave. In terms of its splendor and beauty, it is ranked among the 4 most beautiful Bulgarian caves - Magurata, Lednika and Saeva Dupka. In 1979, Snezhanka was declared a natural landmark. It is visited annually by over 10,000 people.
